This Privacy Policy describes how QuillScape by Salvatore Patti (hereinafter “QuillScape”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses and protects users’ personal data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and applicable Italian data protection legislation.

2. Personal Data Collected
We collect the following categories of personal data:
2.1 Data provided directly by the user
Upon registration and during the use of the service, we collect: first name, last name, email address and phone number.
2.2 User-generated content
Texts, projects and any other content created by the user within the application are stored on our servers to enable access and synchronization of work.
2.3 Automatically collected data
Through cookies and analytics tools, we collect technical data such as: IP address, browser type, operating system, pages visited, session duration and interactions with the application.
2.4 Payment data
Payments are handled entirely by Paddle.com, which acts as Merchant of Record. QuillScape does not collect, process or store payment data (credit card numbers, bank details, etc.). For information on payment data processing, please refer to Paddle’s Privacy Policy.
3. Purposes and Legal Basis for Processing
Your personal data is processed for the following purposes:
3.1 Performance of contract (Art. 6.1.b GDPR)
Creation and management of your account, provision of the service, saving and synchronizing your content, customer support.
3.2 Legitimate interest (Art. 6.1.f GDPR)
Service improvement, aggregate analysis of application usage, fraud and abuse prevention, IT security.
3.3 Consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR)
Sending newsletters and marketing communications, use of non-essential cookies and analytics tools. Consent may be withdrawn at any time.
3.4 Legal obligations (Art. 6.1.c GDPR)
Compliance with tax, accounting and administrative obligations required by applicable law.
4. Cookies and Analytics Tools
QuillScape uses technical cookies necessary for the operation of the service and, with your consent, profiling cookies and analytics tools.
4.1 Technical cookies
These are necessary for the application to function (authentication, session preferences). They do not require consent.
4.2 Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to analyze site usage in aggregate form. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymous information about user behavior. IP addresses are anonymized. You can disable Google Analytics by installing the browser add-on available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
You can manage your cookie preferences via the banner displayed on first access to the site or through your browser settings.
5. Data Recipients
Your personal data may be shared with the following categories of recipients:
5.1 Service providers
Supabase: database hosting and content storage (servers located in the European Union).
Paddle.com: payment management and invoicing as Merchant of Record.
Google (Google Analytics): statistical analysis of service usage.
Mailchimp (The Rocket Science Group): sending newsletters and marketing communications, with your consent.
5.2 Competent authorities
Data may be disclosed to judicial or administrative authorities where required by law.
6. International Data Transfers
Your data is stored on servers located in Italy, within the European Union.
Some of our service providers (Google, Mailchimp, Paddle) may process data outside the European Economic Area. In such cases, transfers are made on the basis of appropriate safeguards pursuant to Articles 46-49 of the GDPR, such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission or adequacy decisions.
7. Data Retention Period
Account data: retained for the duration of the contractual relationship and for the following 10 years to comply with tax and legal obligations.
User-generated content: retained until account deletion. Upon deletion, content is removed within 30 days, unless legal obligations require otherwise.
Analytics data: retained in aggregate and anonymized form according to Google Analytics policies (26 months).
Marketing data: retained until consent is withdrawn.
8. Your Rights
Under Articles 15-22 of the GDPR, you have the right to:
Access: obtain confirmation of whether processing is taking place and access your personal data.
Rectification: obtain correction of inaccurate data or completion of incomplete data.
Erasure: obtain deletion of your data in cases provided by law.
Restriction: obtain restriction of processing in cases provided by law.
Portability: receive your data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.
Objection: object to processing on grounds relating to your particular situation.
Withdraw consent: withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

9. Right to Complain
You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali – www.garanteprivacy.it) if you believe that the processing of your data violates the GDPR.
10. Security Measures
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, loss, destruction or disclosure. These measures include: encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, regular backups and security monitoring.
11. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes will take effect from the date of publication on the website. In the event of substantial changes, we will notify you by email or by notice within the application.
